Christmas was still 2 months away, but the preparation for yule ball had already begun. Samantha did not leave any thing for last minute, some would call her over-achiever, but she just liked to be ready well in advance. No last-minute panic about serving salmon or mackerel, dining arrangement sitting or standing, and other such things. She usually started visualizing a theme three months back and toyed with multiple ideas before coming up with clear picture.

This year she had decided on going vintage, even the card invitation would be printed as such — in glossy papers and beautiful cursive calligraphy. It tickled her that she even brought a customized wax seal to seal the invitation. Oh! How she loved to bring her imagination alive from the books she read. She would be setting up the dress code to be formals as well. No miniskirts in her party, no ma’am! You better be dressed up to receive the Queen of England.

Even the return gifts were sorted out, a mini soap basket for five scents of the season — pine, apple-cinnamon, orange and cloves, ginger and the favorite vanilla. Soap gifting was very much in the trend this year and moreover she liked art of molding a bit too much.

She thought to gift the baby girls coming to the party something as well, they were so dainty and precious. Had the party been earlier, she supposed, daisy chains would have been a nice choice, but it was winter and there were not many flowers to spare. So now they out get sour jellies in shape of tiaras, and the boys would get them in tux.

If only, she could get a rich guy to flatter and make her dream come true!!She had the perfect plan!

Prompt words: Christmas, soap, daisy, flatter, sour
